It’s difficult to put into words why fixed gear bikes are so good; originally used on the track, they are designed to give you the purest riding experience possible. Fixed gear simply means it is not possible to coast; if the wheels are moving, so are the pedals. At first, this can be disorienting, but those who stick with it never go back. However, our bikes give you the option of either fixed gear riding or single speed (with a freewheel) through the use of a flip-flop hub.

Another benefit of having only one gear is the lack of maintenance needed; simply make sure the tyres are pumped up and the chain is tight - no need to spend hours calibrating noisy, heavy derailleurs. The absence of gear mechanisms also makes for a very minimalist, clean look without cables, levers and derailleurs spoiling the design of the bike and weighing you down.
